Ghostbusters Teams Up with the Google Science Fair

written by Jordan Cobb May 6, 2016

Taking a break from keeping ghosts and the rest of the supernatural from taking over New York City, the Ghostbusters are helping to help find the next generation of scientists by teaming up with Google.

Stars of the upcoming film, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, and Kristen Wiig are teaming up with Google to help spread the word of the fifth annual Google Science Fair, which is an online science and engineering competition for kids 13-18. This is to help inspire new applicants into the scientific field and those with engineering aspirations to try and help make the world a better place with whatever improvements they can create.

The entries will be looked over and judged by an esteemed panel of leaders in various fields of science and engineering. Prizes are offered to the entrants such as scholarship awards from partners like LEGO, National Geographic, and various other foundations with $50,000 in scholarship funding being the grand prize.

Entries can be made online at the Make Better Generator and more info on the prize can be found on the Google Science Fair website. The deadline for entries is on May 17.

Ghostbusters comes out on July 15.
