Playstation revealed at E3 a gameplay trailer for God of War IV! The trailer itself showed a lot of things for us to look forward to. First of all, there is the fact that Kratos has returned! Second, it appears as though he is currently training a young boy who looks about ten to thirteen. Third, some of the monsters shouted “For Valhalla” which┬áin Norse Mythology is Odin’s Kingdom. Therefore, God of War moving to Norse Mythology is confirmed. This means we may actually end up fighting people like Odin, Thor, Loki, Frigg, and quite possibly more.

God of War 2

Kratos looks much older than he did at the end of God of War III but he’s still as strong and as hardcore as ever! The child–who Kratos has been calling “Boy”–seems to be learning how to hunt from Kratos as well as fight. At the end of the trailer, Kratos says “Now you are ready” the boy asks “For what?” The reply is: “A new beginning”. Perhaps this gameplay trailer is only the first ten minutes of the game and from then on, you play as the boy. We won’t know until this game releases or another trailer comes out.

What we do know is that a world full of Norse Mythology is going to be a fun world to explore. However, there are rumors out there that this God of War will not be an open world.

As of right now there is no release date given so we can only hope it will come out sometime this year. There is also no news about what the plot will contain. Merely that God of War IV–or A New Beginning as many have been calling it–is based loosely on Norse Mythology. Are you looking forward to God of War IV? What are your speculations about this trailer? Let us know in the comments!
