Last year our childhood was brought to life with Rob Letterman and Darren Lemke’s take on Goosebumps on the big screen. From the moment the original movie was announced there was talk about wanting a sequel, but it seems that Sony is really trying to nail that down now. The Hollywood Reporter announced that they are in the process of closing the deal with Rob Letterman to return as director, and Darren Lemke to return as the writer.
The goal is to get Jack Black to return as R.L. Stine, but there has been no official word on whether or not he’s agreed yet. The first movie did pretty well in the box office bringing home $80 million domestically, and $77 million internationally. I, for one, sincerely hope that Jack Black returns for the sequel. His charismatic and quirky nature make him the perfect candidate for the role, and he did a great job the first time around.
Did you see Goosebumps? If so, what did you think? Let me know!
