With so much buzz recently in the tech world about Apple being made to unlock gunman Syed Rizwan Farook’s iPhone so many people have come to both sides to defend. Should Apple be made to unlock or is it their right to be able to deny it because of repercussions? In latest news Apple might be out of hot water as the FBI is claiming to have found a way into the infamous iPhone due to an “outside party”.
“On Sunday, March 20, 2016, an outside party demonstrated to the FBI a possible method for unlocking Farook’s iPhone,” reads the Justice Department’s official filing. “Testing is required to determine whether it is a viable method that will not compromise data on Farook’s iPhone. If the method is viable, it should eliminate the need for the assistance from Apple Inc. (‘Apple’) set forth in the All Writs Act Order in this case.”
Only after a few hours after requesting the dropping of the case from the United States Attorney to Apple’s counsel, the judge granted the motion and the case has been cancelled.
It seems they are not sure if the way in will work but they must have some ground to stand on if they went ahead and cancelled the case.
The way I see it Apple-1 FBI-0
