Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie is set to release November 17th, 2017 and has been at the pinnacle of all the comic book conversations. So far all the footage and trailers that have been teased have featured most of the key members; Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg. However, all the news surrounding Justice League has unfortunately been missing one key member; Green Lantern. That was until now.
Green Lantern was only known to be coming to the big screen in Green Lantern Corps which isn’t set to release until 2020. Most have assumed that the large gap between it and Justice League was partially due to the poorly rated Green Lantern in 2011.
Luckily, according to an interview with The Wrap, DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns has confirmed an appearance from a member of the Green Lantern Corps. With just under a year to go until the film is released, this is wonderful news! Geoff Johns gave a lovely tease about the member’s appearance and it was put wonderfully:
“We’ve been to the bottom of the oceans, we’ve been to ancient Greece mythology, we’ve been to the past and future Flash, into the digital world with Cyborg, we still got to go to space,” the longtime writer of the comic book “Green Lantern” said. “So the Green Lanterns and the Green Lantern Corps will be coming to join the Justice League universe.”
There is no indication exactly which member of the Corps will be joining us. One can only hope that Hal Jordan will grace the audience with his presence. If not Jordan, the probability of it being John Stewart is tremendous.
After this, hopefully we get news of some more appearances. I’m secretly hoping for Martian Manhunter and Hawkgirl. What are some appearances you are hoping to see? What are your wishes for the actor to portray our Green Lantern? *cough* Nathan Fillion *Cough, cough*
Until we know more, watch the Justice League trailer a few more times!
