I…am….Mr Potato Head! Groot immortalized as iconic figure

Well folks, Guardians of the Galaxy fever is upon us once again. The sequel to the 2014 smash hit is already out overseas and will release in the US on May 5th. One of our very own writers was able to see it and has something to say about it. Of course, with a hit Marvel movie comes the merchandise. Part of that merchandise comes in the form of that lovable tree named Groot. Whether adult or baby, Groot has become one of the popular characters in the franchise. And now Hasbro is bringing Groot to you in the form of Mr. Potato Head.

For those of you too young to remember Mr. Potato Head, let me break it down for you. First introduced by Hasbro in 1952, it consisted of the main body, shaped like a potato, along with different hands, feet, eyes and hats. However, most people would come up with all kinds of strange combinations. The eyes would end up where the hands should be and the hands would be the feet. And if you have seen the movie Toy Story, then you know how easy it is to lose the pieces.  Mr. Potato Head has come in many different forms, from Darth Vader to the Doctor himself. With the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, it comes as no surprise that we see Mr. Potato Head take on Groot. Of course, if you are not a fan of Groot, there is a Star-Lord version of Mr. Potato Head.

While the Groot portrayed by Mr. Potato Head is not the Baby Groot that most everyone loves, it is still a cute addition to anyone’s collection. I have a feeling that many fans will want to snatch them up as quickly as they can. If you are one of those people, you better act fast. Groot’s popularity will only rise now that the Guardians are upon us once more.

Sound off, geeks! Are any of you interested in buying this? Let us know in the comments.
