Halo 5 Coming to PC? Don’t Get Too Excited, Here’s What Microsoft had to Say

E3 is next week and though we here at DHTG will be covering it live directly from the convention center itself in Los Angeles – that doesn’t mean that the rumors aren’t still aplenty. Wishful thinking and the hopes of gamers around the world fuel the seemingly endless rumor mill when it comes to fan favourites. This time, the rumor concerns Halo 5.

Halo 5

The rumor is this: according to NeoGAF user ‘Enter the Dragon Punch‘, who doesn’t have a completely unreliable track record when it comes to hidden news, stated that he has it “on good authority from multiple sources that Halo 5 will be coming to PC.” Because of who posted the ‘leak’, fans everywhere were in a frenzy about the possibility of the latest Halo to make the leap from Xbox to PC. ¬†This particular NeoGAF user was also responsible for the Skyrim Remastered rumors¬†DHTG reported in the past.

Like we said though, don’t get too excited. According to a Microsoft spokesperson, these rumors are completely unfounded and not true at all:

“Our approach is to deliver epic Halo experiences designed for PC gamers and Windows 10, such as Halo Wars 2 and the recently announced Halo 5: Forge. There are no plans to port Halo 5: Guardians to PC.”

Halo 5: Forge is essentially nothing more than a map-making tool, so the announcement of that title coming to PC did not have nearly the amount of positive reception as the possible Guardians title.

There you have it, Geeks – directly from Microsoft themselves. Stay tuned with us as we will be following any new developments for this closely and, as always, continue to bring you the latest and greatest in gaming news.

In prep for this year’s E3, here are a few other gems in the gaming-verse happening right now:
