Hell hath no Fury: Darksiders 3 confirmed

written by Alex Lopez May 2, 2017

It’s happening! Darksiders 3 is currently in production and scheduled for a 2018 release. The announcement came from THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games, the team developing the game. The game will release for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

The new game with follow Fury, the sister of War and Death, who is charged with destroying the Seven Deadly Sins. The events of the game will take place around the same time as the events from Darksiders 2. While there is no other information at this time, we do have a trailer to give us a little taste of what is to come.  The game will continue to have the usual hack and slash elements that are staples to the series. Along with the hack and slash, there will also be environmental puzzles to solve. The game will also allow players to explore openly while on the hunt for the Seven Deadly Sins.

While relatively unknown, the staff at Gunfire Games seems more than capable of delivering a quality Darksiders game. With former Vigil Games employees on the development team, including Game Director and Executive Producer, this new Darksiders game is in great hands. The studio is responsible for Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition and the VR game Chronos.

A Woman Scorned

There is still plenty of story left to tell, even after the five years since Darksiders 2. Like the saying goes: Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. And it looks like the sister of War has some aggression to let out. Armed with a chain whip, you can be sure that Fury is just as bit as deadly as her brothers. While War uses brute strength, based on her look and weapon choice, Fury seems more rogue-like in her appearance. I would guess that her fighting style is more of a distance fighting than an in-your-face style of combat. Hopefully we will get more information as development moves along. Darksiders 3 is available for pre-order here.

What do you say, geeks? Does the new Darksiders game sound awesome to you? Sound off in the comments.
