Yakko, Wakko, and Dot.

Animaniacs will forever be remembered as one of the most iconic and greatest animated series of all time thanks to its sharp and clever writing, catchy musical numbers, and plenty of unforgettable characters. Well, its time to open the Warner Bros. water tower yet again as Yakko, Wakko, and Dot are back!

Hulu has ordered a two-season, straight-to-series revival on the streaming service being produced alongside with Warner Bros. Animation, The WB Network, and Amblin Television. In addition to the brand new show, expected to start airing in 2020, they also got the library rights to the original series as well as the Pinky and the Brain, Pinky, Elmyra & the Brain, and even the complete collection of Tiny Toon Adventures, all of which can be streamed right now.

Executive producer of the original series Steve Spielberg will be involved in the revival. On said revival, Spielberg said:

I am so pleased and proud that Animaniacs will have a home at Hulu. Together with Warner Bros., we look to bring new audiences and longtime fans into this wild world of Yakko, Wakko, and Dot. I am also excited that the full library of Animaniacs and Tiny Toon Adventures episodes are included in the deal.

Also involved with the new episodes are Sam Register, Warner Bros. Animation President and Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank, co-presidents of Amblin Television.

Animaniacs first premiered back in 1993 and became a huge hit. Many of its shorts and lines are still quoted today and I bet you some of their songs helped plenty of us in school be it Wakko’s songs about the presidents or state capitals or most certainly, Yakko’s World among the many catchy tunes, be they educational or not.

The show also garnered its own spinoff with beloved characters Pinky and the Brain, but we can’t forget Slappy Squirrel, the Goodfeathers, Dr. Otto Scratchansniff, Rita and Runt, Hello Nurse, and way too much more for me to list here.

The show garnered critical success too in the form of eight Daytime Emmys and a Peabody Award.
