In the Not Too Distant Future: Mystery Science Theater 3000 Debuts Trailer

written by Jordan Cobb March 24, 2017

If there was ever one thing that has really stuck with me since being a wee little geek, its the brilliance of Mystery Science Theater 3000. The sci-fi comedy of a janitor launched into space to watch terrible, cheesy movies with robots has long stood the test of time since its start on a local Minnesota TV station.

Well it won’t be too long now until the revived season of the show thanks to Kickstarter will debut on Netflix! Never thought I’d see new MST3K episodes in 2017. World’s kinda weird, right? Anyway here is the trailer for the new Mystery Science Theater 3000!

Admittedly a little short, but we do get the main setup for the season with Jonah Hill’s Jonah Heston being trapped and tricked by Professor Forrester’s daughter, Kinga (Felicia Day) as she has reopened the Mystery Science Theater 3000 project.

Of course there is Tom Sevro, Crow T. Robot, and Gypsy. Also TV’s Son of TV’s Frank played by Patton Oswalt might be the best character name of anything ever. Of course we will also see the return of Mary Jo Phel, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett as their respective characters from past seasons.

I’m cautiously optimistic about the newest revival, but considering the talent on display and the fact that Joel Hodgson is of course heading up the project. Though it’s just a show, I should really just relax.

What’s you’re reaction to it? Excited or not? What is your favorite episode of the series? Let us know in the comments below!

Mystery Science Theater 3000 season 11 debuts on Netflix April 14.
