Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke Status is Up in the Air

There has been a lot of changes going on ever since it was announced Ben Affleck would get his own solo film in the DC Extended Universe as Batman. We all know it by now, he was co-writing and directing, then stepped down as director, the script is given a complete overhaul, Matt Reeves signed on to direct, its pretty much been covered several times over.

However, one thing seems to keep getting overlooked and that is is the only other actor attached to The Batman is still involved. Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Magic Mike) signed on to play Slade Wilson, better known as Deathstroke. Weirdly among all the news of this movie, Manganiello and any mention of them has rarely been made.

Recently speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Manganiello was able to shed a little light as to whenever or not he’ll still be playing the one-eyed assassin. When just asked outright, he responded, “I don’t. Well, I do but nothing that I can share. I know everything but I can’t say any of it.”

As for when we’d find out, he added, “It’s not up to me. That’s a good question for Warner Bros. and DC.”

Early rumors into development that the movie would see Batman taking on all if not most of his famed Rogue’s Gallery, but who knows if that will still stand given a script overhaul and Reeves’ idea of a “noir-driven” film that would start a trilogy. Though should be noted, not many villains have been mentioned or brought up in the recent string of news surrounding The Batman.

Do you still want Manganiello to play Deathstroke? Who do you want to be the villain in The Batman? Let us know in the comments below!
