I became a fan on Finn as soon as I saw him appear onscreen during Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The Star Wars actor who portrays Finn is no different. John Boyega is a fun-loving guy who is a delight to watch during interviews. He is no stranger to serious topics, however. During an interview with V Magazine, John had this to say to folks who were critical of the diversity displayed in the latest Star Wars movie:
“You either enjoy it or don’t. I’m not saying get used to the future, but what is already happening. People of color and women are increasingly being shown on screen. For things to be white washed just doesn’t make sense.”
Due to that and countless other interviews, John has become a bit of a spokesperson for diversity in Hollywood. It did appear very odd, however, when one Twitter user thought it would be a good idea to ask him about – wait for it – Black Panther.
While Black Panther, set to hit theaters in February, is a movie with a predominately African American cast, it’s also a movie that John Boyega himself is not in. So the question itself seemed confusing.
Still, in his own way, John responded with a funny little clap back, showing that he does, in fact, embrace the diversity of the film.
Because it's about time Biiiihhhhh

And on that note, take a moment to check out the latest Black Panther trailer. Don’t freeze!
