What happens when worlds collide? Chaos? Beauty? Why not both? Tetsuya Nomura, known for his designs on Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, has once again created beauty from chaos. Feast your eyes on his version of Batman’s greatest foe, The Joker!
Due out this fall, Play Arts Kai and Nomura take a new spin on the classic villain. Previously, Nomura redesigned Batman and his foe/love interest Catwoman. Both designs look like they belong in a Square Enix game and this redesign of The Joker follows suit. With an exoskeleton that doubles as a wheelchair and several head options, this is one figure that will excite the most hardcore of fans. From the classic Joker head to a reimagning of his Red Hood days and even a demon form, this Joker design is definitely the stuff of nightmares.
This redesign is an interesting take on The Joker. He has always been a frightening character, but this takes it to another level. As with most Final Fantasy bosses, The Joker can go from classic look to nightmare demon form to deliver more chaos. And while Batman also got a redesign of his own, this Joker looks to go toe to toe with Batman. This is the third redesign for Nomura in regards to the DC universe. I can only hope that this is not the last. The Play Arts Kai Joker figure will release in October for $299.99.
Sound off, geeks! What do you think of this redesign? Which other DC characters would you like to see redesigned?
