The Justice League Stands Together
All aboard the hype train! 2017 is going to be all about Wonder Woman and Justice League: Part 1 for DC Comics and Warner Brothers. What you see above is a new image they’ve released as a part of USA Today’s film previews of 2017. It features 5 of the 6 members of the Justice League. (We’re missing Superman, because we don’t know what his role in the film will be after his “demise” in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.) We see Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Flash, and Aquaman in order from left to right, but we don’t know in what context we’re seeing them. Flash seems to have a look of concern on his face, so maybe this is where they see Steppenwolf for the first time.
Director Zach Snyder had this to say about the team:
“It was all about the filling-out of this massive comic-book pantheon with the biggest and coolest heroes we could.”
Snyder is also a producer on the upcoming Wonder Woman film. He teased a bigger arc for Diana as well as she finds out “humanity isn’t always the most kind and awesome thing.”
“It has its moments, but it can be brutal, and her coming to terms with that dichotomy is what we come to learn about her,” Snyder went on to say. “And in ‘Justice League,’ she’s fully evolved into someone who’s embraced mankind, partly through Superman’s sacrifice. She’s like, ‘All right, I’ve got to pick it up.’”
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, in “Justice League” Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash — it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Wonder Woman is slated to release on June 2nd, 2017 while Justice League: Part 1 is coming out on November 17th, 2017.
What do you guys think? It will be interesting to see how Wonder Woman plays into the larger story of Justice League. We’d love to hear your thoughts, so join in on the conversation in the comments below!
