Something hugely noticeable about the original The Walking Dead comics is how its written and how raw and real the language used feels. Particularly from Negan who has a certain word that he favors ultimately among other certain kind of words. Well fans will be pleased to hear that Negan is gonna be saying a lot more of that word soon.
The recent episode of TV spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead used the word, “F—,” live in its broadcast episode. Now the F-word has been used on previous AMC shows before such as Preacher and Halt and Catch Fire.
Though now it seems the long running zombie show is finally gonna get a bit more colorful with its language. Fear showrunner Dave Erickson explained that was all done thanks to a change in policy at AMC.
Talking to ComicBook.com, “You get a specific number of curse words you can say, and then there’s a list of what you can and can’t do. I think it was our script coordinator who told me there was an email had come up; there had been a memo saying we could now say “f—” twice over the course of an entire season.”
Further adding, “I don’t know at what point AMC corporate decided to allow it, but they did.”
The policy overall looks to be implemented across all active AMC shows, meaning The Walking Dead will soon expand its dictionary. Now as heavily used as the F-word is by Negan in nearly, let’s just say every other sentence, in the comic, don’t expect Jeffrey Dean Morgan to suddenly be dropping bombs when the new season debuts next month.
