Geeks, Here’s the List of October’s Free PlayStation Plus Games

written by Jason Marcano September 28, 2016

October is just around the corner, and that means a slate of new “free” games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. The past few months have been a bit “meh” as far as the PS4 is concerned, but this October brings one well recieved beat ’em up, and a genre defining game to the line up.

PlayStation 4

Just in time for Halloween, Plus members will be able to download the HD remaster of the original Resident Evil. This PlayStation 1 classic needs no introduction.

The next game to come to PlayStation Plus members on PS4 is Transformers: Devastation. Developed by Platinum Games, makers of games like Bayonetta and the recent TMNT: Mutants in ManhattanTransformers: Devastation was a well received, nostalgia rich, cell shaded beat ’em up.

Assuming the role of Optimus, Bumble Bee, and other Autobots, players battle it out with the Decepticons and Insecticons in New York City.

PlayStation 3

PS3 owners, Sony hasn’t forgotten about you either. October sees the release of Ubisoft’s From Dust, a god game of sorts in which you help a tribe survive the wrath of nature.

Also coming to PlayStation Plus subcribers on PS3 is Mad Riders. I’ve never played this one myself, but the trailer (below) makes me think of Freekstyle on PS2, except with ATVs as opposed to Motocross bikes.

PS Vita

The Vita may be all but forgotten in the states, but that doesn’t mean owners of the handheld will be left in the dark this October. PlayStation Plus members who own a vita will have the opportunity to download two games as well. First we have Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~.

Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~ is a visual novel game, and another on the list I have never played. I’m truthfully not much of a fan of this style of game, so I couldn’t tell you one way or another if this is a good game for Vita owners to get.

The other game Vita owners will have access to next month is Actual Sunlight.

Actual Sunlight is yet another visual novel type game and another I haven’t played. This one seems a bit more grounded in reality than Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~ however. It deals with some heavy emotions like depression and love.

So geeks, how bout that PlayStation Plus line-up for the PS4? Do any of these games intrest you? They will be available starting early October for PlayStation Plus members, and will remain yours to play until you cancel your subscription. I for one can’t wait to get back into RE, and give Transformers: Devastation a go, I never played it when it originally came out.
