Live Action Beast and More Revealed from Beauty and the Beast

written by Jordan Cobb November 3, 2016

Without a doubt, one of 2017’s most anticipated films is Disney’s live action retelling of one of its absolute classics, Beauty and the Beast.

There is still a lot of love behind the original movie and the new version boasts a pretty stack cast. We’ve had a good look at Emma Watson’s Belle, but most certainly, people have been pining to see how Dan Stevens will look as the titular Beast and we now have our very first look at him courtesy of the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly, which is highlighting the film as its lead story.

Gotta say, that looks pretty good. I’m impressed. The fur looks lovely and the face on the Beast looks very good and doesn’t feel off from the character’s overall appearance. The horns are even a nice little touch themselves that add to the image, which of course is their iconic dance scene in the animated classic.

In addition to our very first proper look, a few more images from Beauty and the Beast were released as well that does show more of Belle, but also looks at Kevin Kline as her father Maurice, Luke Evans and Josh Gad as Gaston and Le Fou respectively, and more of Ian McKellen’s Cogsworth and Lumière played by Ewan McGregor alongside Mrs. Potts and Plumette who will be played by Emma Thompson and Gugu Mbatha-Raw respectively. You can take a look at them for yourselves below!

Looks like director and co-writer Bill Condon has put a lot of thought and effort in updating this classic.

What do you think of the Beast? Looks good or not? How about the rest of the characters? What other Disney animated films do you think should be in live action? Let us know in the comments below!

Beauty and the Beast opens in theaters on March 17 next year.
