Ever since its premiere, Netflix and Marvel’s Luke Cage captivated fans and audiences thanks to its impeccable lead in Mike Colter and its socially relevant stories and ideas. Plus, not to mention, that music! So people have been wondering, when might we just get season two? Well wait no more and take a look for yourself.
June 22. Ah yes, why not cool off inside from the hot summer heat with a man that could easily break an AC unit with just one hand.
So obviously, we don’t know jack about what’s going to be happening here in season two since, well its about half a minute, but it does appear Luke’s popularity as Harlem’s hero is growing since he appears to be talking to a camera or someone’s phone I assume. Well, one thing is still certain, he’s gonna be finding himself in a whole lot of trouble that involves throwing lots of people around.
Coming into Harlem this summer are Mustafa Shakir and Gabrielle Dennis as John McIver/Bushmaster and Nightshade respectively. Plus, Finn Jones will popup as Danny Rand/Iron Fist, Comanche as played by Thomas Q. Jones, and Reg E. Cathey as James Lucas, Cathey’s final TV role before his death last month.
What made the show standout was certainly its amazing soundtrack, which I doubt won’t be a problem in season two, but what interests me more is the social commentary and insight into society. After last season and The Defenders, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of place Luke will be at in life. How much deeper can the show go into what’s going on out there in the world? Showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker is the right man for the job to guide this show.
Count me as excited!
