Someone send Lauren Bowker her Hogwarts letter please. Through a combination of alchemy and art, she has created a hair dye that will change the color of your hair dependent on temperature. What’s more, even she admits its magic.
“Now the occult has bad connotations of being a dark art and being taboo. When really it’s just a spiritual way of living. Technology like Apple, Google, yes they are technology, but for me technology should be magic and shouldn’t be engineered all the time. To me, chemistry and science is witchcraft – and so it should be,” Bowker said according to Aol Lifestyle.
Bowker is a graduate of the Royal College of Art in London and is termed a data visualization scientist. This is not her first foray into the world of color changing science as applied to fashion either. She created a color changing gemstone headpiece with Swarovksi that was able to change color based on variations in brain activity. And in 2014, she created a color changing fabric that was able to change color via headset that would scan emotions.
Her latest creation, temperature controlled color changing hair dye, has been dubbed “Fire”. Photos of this magical hair dye have been circulating on social media and have helped to perpetuate the modern day witch persona that Bowker seems happy to embrace.
