Shortly after the release of that amazing trailer you just watched, the PlayStation Blog was updated with a bit more information. Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite will center around the infinity stones, hence the name.
- Infinite Power: Pulled from classic Marvel lore, unique and game-changing Infinity Stones can be implemented into players’ strategies as a way to influence the outcome of battle. Each Infinity Stone provides a unique advantage to the player and represents a different aspect of the universe: power, space, time, reality, soul, and mind.
Aside from the four shown in the trailer, the blog makes mention of Captain America also being in the game. Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite is being made with the Unreal 4 engine. The team sizes are back to the 2 vs 2 as opposed to the 3 on 3 from the previous entry. It will feature a cinematic story mode along with the standard single player options found in fighting games. Multiplayer is standard fare as well; Casual or ranked matches, leader boards, and a spectator mode.
Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite is currently in development and is scheduled to be released in 2017. Tomorrow during the Capcom Cup 2016, broadcast on ESPN, an extended trailer will be shown.
