Matt Reeves has Now Exited the Director’s Chair of The Batman

Okay not it really is the time to start asking what exactly is going on over at the DC Extended Universe since within a week, The Batman has lost its second director!

Signed on to replace Ben Affleck as director, Matt Reeves has exited after negotiations for the past week have broken down per a source over at Warner Bros. Reeves was chosen among names such as Ridley Scott and Fede Alvarez. Though the possibility of resuming talks once cooler heads prevail is on the table, this is seems to further signal a big problem in the DCEU.

Reeves’ role in post-production for this summer’s War for the Planet of the Apes might have a factor in his walking away, but let’s not forget that The Flash has already gone through two different directors itself from Seth Grahame-Smith and then Rick Famuyiwa.

Warner is of course dead set on making sure The Batman happen one way or another as the character is a guaranteed box office draw, but all this news will do is make fans and others wonder about their planning how much creative freedom they are allowing. Aquaman right now is the only DC film in production that isn’t having any major behind the scenes trouble and appears to be moving along smoothly as filming gets underway.

What do you make of the news geeks? Who do you think can really direct The Batman? Is this movie worth saving at this point? Let us know in the comments below!
