Megan Fox Would Like to Play Kitana in New Mortal Kombat Movie

Beloved genre franchises and Megan Fox seem to go hand-in-hand lately from her turns in the Transformers films and recently with the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film series. Now she’d like to throw her hat into another franchise.

While out on press tour duty for the soon to be released, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, the actress currently portraying April O’Neil was asked by Cinepop what superhero she’d love to play in a movie if she were ever given the chance. Fox admitted to drawing a blank on an answer, having no one specific in mind despite getting this question a lot lately.

Eventually she did give an answer, but who she said certainly isn’t no hero. Fox chose Kitana from Mortal Kombat, saying that if they ever did another film based off of the video game franchise she’d want to play her. Further adding that she’s a fan of her fans and blades.

Good news for Fox then as a new Mortal Kombat film is in the works at the moment with The Conjuring director, James Wan signed on as a producer. The new film would be the first in over two decades ever since the original Mortal Kombat‘s release in 1995 and its sequel, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation in 1997. The newest attempt at adapting the overly popular video game series is rumored to be a completely new film that doesn’t connect at all to the previous films, which were not that well received by critics or audiences alike.

Kitana herself appeared in both films, played by Talisa Soto.

Well do you think this would be good casting? If not, who would you have Megan Fox play in a Mortal Kombat movie? Would you even want her in the movie at all? Let us know in the comments below!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows comes out June 3.
