The latest trailer for the upcoming game, Mighty No. 9 has released. The trailer is getting some negative feedback as well as loads of excitement from fans of Keiji Inafune, who was the main illustrator for the early Mega Man games and created the character Zero from the same franchise.
The new game by Inafune’s development company, Comcept, is a 2-D action side-scroller very reminiscent of the Mega Man games. Players will take control of Beck, a running, jumping, shooting robot who can acquire weapons and abilities from the enemies he defeats.
Mighty No. 9 was crowd-funded on Kickstarter. After reaching their $900,000 goal within two days of the Kickstarter campaign, stretch goals were met to add additional levels, other game modes, and ports to multiple platforms. The release date is slated for June 21, 2016 and will be available on Windows PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS.
Are you excited? I’ll admit, I’ve been waiting for this one for a while as I have been a fan of the Mega Man franchise for decades.
