Check Out the New (Old) Millennium Falcon in Donald Glover’s Tour!

Star Wars just released a tour of the Millennium Falcon!  The tour is hosted by none other than the charismatic and amazing Donald Glover. Glover, who is playing Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story, walks viewers through the shiny new looking Millennium Falcon.

Glover looks just as excited as anyone would be inside the legendary ship.  He visits the living quarters, where the original series spent so much time. Why they never use the onboard wet bar is a question for the ages. He visits the master bedroom. There is a walk-in cape room, everybody! A WALK IN CAPE ROOM!

Look at the joy on his face when the hyperdrive kicks on.  That is the smile of a man who loves his ship. It wasn’t enough to keep it out of a card game, but he loves it all the same.

With the movies coming out in a convoluted order, it can be difficult to remember this version of the original Millennium Falcon – the Falcon from before the original three movies, before Han got his hands on it.

In an interview on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, shortly after his casting, Glover talked about his long love for Star Wars. He spoke about the first toy he remembers being an action figure of Lando Calrissian, a gift from his father.

“I told my dad immediately. My mom was in the back like, ‘Don’t mess it up. Don’t mess this up.’ Because, Billy Dee like… that’s hers”

Filling the shoes of any character in this series would take a great deal of work, but Glover seems to be equal to it. In addition to appearing in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Glover can be seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Community, and is currently filming the live-action Lion King.

Solo: A Star Wars Story premieres on May 25, 2018.  Are you looking forward to seeing it? Let us know in the comments!
