The Narrator The Walking Dead Deserves

The Walking Dead is a terrific show. It brought a grounded tale of the undead to television with a level of care, class and production values that zombie aficionados until then only dreamed.

But it’s been missing something. A critical ingredient. A mysterious X-factor that none of us even knew was missing.

That elusive thing is comedic legend John Cleese.

There are admittedly a few British references that I’m not familiar with, but the nicknames were my personal favorite gag.

Michonne is now officially “Slicey McGee”

The video comes courtesy of UK-based streaming service Now TV, which currently offers the first six seasons in their library. Cleese recaps the story so far in his trademark hilariously witty fashion (and surprisingly thorough in fact).

AMC recently gave viewers a proper series recap with the two-hour special The Journey So Far. The retrospective featured several members of the cast and production team joining in the fun. What they did not have, however, was Nearly Headless Nick explaining the rules of The Walking Dead in perfect Zombieland style.

AMC also kicked off the special with the announcement that the show has been renewed for Season 8, guaranteeing us all at least another two seasons of heartbreaking, gut-wrenching zombie drama to come.

The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere airs October 23rd. SPOILER DEFCON LEVEL ONE: To avoid accidental spoilers, unplugging the internet for the bulk of Sunday evening is advised.
