Right now Netflix is prepping us for it’s Defenders series which sees Jessica Jones, Dare Devil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist team up to clean up Hell Kitchen. Little mention of Marvel’s planned Punisher series can be found— we don’t even have a solid release date yet. While we still have no idea exactly when Jon Bernthal’s Punisher will see the light of day, we do know one thing, filming on the much anticipated show has wrapped.
In a Tweet sent out by the man himself, Bernthal is seen at the wrap party with his co-stars and various crew members.

While the news of the show wrapping production is welcome, it may be a little while before Netflix and Marvel start streaming the show. The Punisher was last spotted on Season 2 of Dare Devil and releasing the show this close to Iron Fist and Netflix’s plans for The Defenders, could cause some confusion among the less versed fans as to the Punisher’s place in the universe. After all, he’s not part of Marvel’s Defenders, but his debut was in Dare Devil, who we all know is a Defender. So, it makes sense they’d want to space out the releases.
The Punisher is being helmed by Steve Lightfoot, the producer and writer of Hannibal. Though nothing is known of exactly where this series will go, we do have a plethora of on-set photos of Jon thanks to his site. Here is a small gallery of Jon bloody, mourning, and stealing cars. You can see more Punisher set images at the link above.
There you have it geeks. The Punisher is ready to crack some skulls, now we just need to wait for Netflix to let us know when the punishing will begin.
