Bethesda dropped the bombshell that Dishonored will be getting the comic book treatment as well as a novelization like many video games in the past. Titan Comics and Books are dedicated to two miniseries that will take place after the first Dishonored, but set before the events of Dishonored 2. This will give fans a clear direction in between the two games.
The comic series will be released as four parts beginning in August. The first issue will be unveiled August 3rd and the remaining issues will be releasing in September and November. Want to wait to have the full set? Bethesda announced that the full series will be available on November 29th.
Issue #1 – August 3, 2016
Issue #2 – September 7, 2016
Issue #3 – September 28, 2016
Issue #4 – October 19, 2016
The comics will follow assassin Corvo Attano through his journey into finding an appropriate successor. Back in Dunwall, Attano must come to terms with his past as he searches for the perfect person to take his place. The timeline is set 12 years after the events in the first Dishonored which will bring fans back to the Empire of Isles in an adventurous way.
The comic series will be written by Gordon Rennie, with art styels by Andrea Olimpieri and Marcelo Maiolo (known for Batman Beyond). Looking at the art style from the cover reveal, it looks like it will be the perfect stylization to go along with the supernatural elements of the Dishonored series as a whole.
As for as the novelization goes, the Dishonored book series will be a trilogy written by Adam Christopher, who has written for Dark Circle Comics. Titan Books will be the publisher. The book series itself will “bridge the gap” between the first title and the sequel dropping this November. The first book, Dishonored – The Corroded Man, will be released this September while the remaining two in the series will be set for a 2017 release.
You can also check out the sequel, Dishonored 2, November 11 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
