New Doctor Who Companion Announcement

written by Jon "BatPool" M April 21, 2016

Doctor Who Official tweeted this morning that The Doctor’s next companion will be revealed on Saturday, April 23.  The reveal will take place during halftime during the Everton vs Manchester United FA Cup semi-final on BBC1.

The match begins at 5:15 pm, London time, which means the reveal should take place some time around 6:00 pm.

The new companion that has yet to be revealed will join Peter Capaldi for season ten of the well loved series. Capaldi has previously stated that he already knows the face and name of his future co-star. Season 10 will also be Chris Chibnall’s first season as show runner and is expected to premier Spring 2017. Seems too far away, if you ask me – that wibbly wobbly time stream needs to wibble wobble faster.

As fans of the show are aware, Jenna Coleman’s character – Clara Oswald – bid farewell at the end of season 9. Coleman made her debut during Matt Smith’s run of the beloved Doctor and proved to be a very important part of The Doctor’s life. Even more so when Peter Capaldi took possession of the T.A.R.D.I.S. Although, Coleman was fantastic on the show, I’m always excited when a new companion is introduced.
