Batman isn’t going to be away from our gaming systems anytime soon.
Originally set for release back in July, Batman: Return to Arkham was indefinitely delayed in June so that Warner Bros. Games and Virtuous Games, the ones heading up the remastering of Rocksteady’s first two Batman games, could give the fans a finely tuned and polished product when the game is released. We all know that WB Games would certainly like to avoid another Batman: Arkham Knight PC launch fiasco.
Well good news, everyone, you’re not going to have to wait too long for Return to Arkham to hit shelves. A new trailer was released that highlighted a side-by-side comparison of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, even the Harley Quinn’s Revenge DLC from City, from how they looked on PlayStation 3 to how they will look on PlayStation 4. It was also revealed at the end of the video that the collection will now come out on October 18. You can see just how much has been upgraded for yourself below.
Judging by how everything looks, that delay was just what the doctor ordered. Unless that doctor is Hugo Strange, then I’d be weary of what he prescribes.
Batman: Return to Arkham will allow fans to experience the Game of the Year editions of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City on the current gen consoles with all their previous bonus and DLC content included, meaning you can now do a one console back-to-back-to-back playthrough of the whole Batman: Arkham series be it on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Given the darkness and horror aspects of the series, especially with the use of Scarecrow in Asylum, it just feels right that its coming out around Halloween time.
How excited are you for the remastering of the first two Batman: Arkham games? Do you think it looks better or not that polished after all? Let us know in the comments below!
