Newly Revealed Iron Fist Pictures Show Danny Rand Ready for Action

written by Maggie Little February 3, 2017

Okay, I’m going to be honest here. I’m a HUGE Iron Fist fan and could not be more excited for the standalone Iron Fist series coming to Netflix in March of this year. While appearing in several parts of different video games and series, Iron Fist hasn’t been the focus of much in years, so it’s about time a series was created to stand alongside all the other great storylines Netflix and Marvel have introduced.

Danny Rand, played by Finn Jones (best known for his character Loras Tyrell in HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones) is Iron Fist – a martial arts expert with the power of the Iron Fist (hence the name), which allows him to focus and summon his chi to do some truly awe inspiring things by combining his own life force energy and the supernatural powers of Shou-Lao the Undying.

Promo images have recently surfaced of Jones’ portrayal of Danny Rand, showing him shirtless, bearing the iconic chest tattoo, and practicing some martial art poses. These are some of our first solo glances of the character:

Whether or not we’ll see the costume from the comic portrayal is yet to be known, and all questions regarding the subject have been answered very vaguely without clue too much. One can hope, though!

One thing I am hopeful for with Netflix carrying both Luke Cage and Iron Fist is a crossover of the two storylines, as both characters appeared in a comic series, Power Man and Iron Fist, together and make an interesting and action packed team that would be interesting to watch on screen. If you haven’t seen them in action together, you can buy the comic here.

What do you think of the look these newly released images? What do you think about the upcoming series, and the choice of main character? Would you like to see a crossover with Luke Cage? Let us know in the comments!
