Team Ninja, the ones behind the Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden series as well as Metroid: Other M among other games, have a brand new offering and wouldn’t you know, they of course brought it to E3. The game is called Nioh and you can take a peek at it for yourself below!

Game publisher Koei Tecmo says Nioh is a dark, fantasy action game. Players will assume the role of a blond-haired swordsman in 17th century Japan as he makes his way through demons that plague the area.

From the look of things, Team Ninja certainly has put a lot into this original IP and that is in part thanks to their fans. They originally released a demo for Nioh earlier this year and feedback from the roughly 850,000 people who downloaded it brought up that the game could use a tutorial, rework the controls, and have better placement of the camera. An improved user interface was also brought up and balanced difficulty levels as well.

A new demo for the game is said to be set for August according to Tecmo’s Twitter. Said second demo is actually playable right now for those lucky enough to be at E3 and is said to contain more of what was praised from the previous demo.

Nioh is set to be released sometime later this year and exclusively only on the PlayStation 4.
