The Fast and Furious franchise actor Vin Diesel can go from playing a Marvel character who we only hear his voice (Groot), to a Marvel headliner who barely ever talks (Black Bolt)!! Once again Vin took to social media to tease the fans of his possible involvement in the future Marvel franchise “The Inhumans” with a picture he posted on his Facebook timeline.
Vin has a habit lately of using social media to get his way into roles with Marvel Studios. The first time was when he was going around posting “news” of his involvement with Marvel Studios, which was never really the case. That is until Marvel Studios eventually did reach out to Diesel for the role of “Groot” in the smash hit Guardians of the Galaxy. So now with a few hints already, Diesel is once again on the interwebz trying to garner another coveted comic book character role or is he merely hinting at something already planned behind the scenes? We will all have to wait for the official word but for now we just have to wonder if this fan art (below) that Vin posted on his social media page yesterday (Dec. 28th) is wishful thinking on Vin’s part or an actual tease to a real future project.
Created by the legendary Marvel artist Jack Kirby for the Fantastic Four issue #45 (first appearance). The Inhumans are led by their king, Black Bolt, and his Royal Family, consisting of Medusa, Karnak, Gorgon, Triton, Crystal, Maximus the Mad, and the large odd-looking canine Lockjaw. Both Crystal and Medusa have been members of the Fantastic Four; Crystal has been a member of the Avengers as well and married Fantastic Four’s Johnny Storm, The Human Torch.
The alien race known as the Kree (the same race Guardians of the Galaxy the movie bad guy Ronin is from) did genetic experiments on Earth’s primitive cavemen to try to create a genetically advanced race with powers. The Kree were trying to find any possible ways of circumventing their own evolutionary downfall. The Kree also had a plan to use this powerful mutant race of soldiers against the long running galactic war with the alien race known as the Skrulls. The Kree abandoned the project and left the “Inhumans” race of people to live in seclusion from any known society on their concealed adoptive homeland the city of Attilan, located on Earth’s moon.
The city of Attilan was actually first mentioned years earlier then the Fantastic Four first appearance in issue #45. In a Tuk the Caveboy story written and drawn by Jack Kirby that appeared in Captain America Comics #1 (March 1941). The city of Attilan, was described as the home of a race of beings that was evolutionarily advanced when humans were still in the Stone Age.
Is the king of the race known as the Inhumans and is the most powerful of his people with abilities of super- strength, power, speed and agility that far surpasses any other Inhuman. Black Bolt’s most prominent offensive weapon is his voice, as his electron-harnessing ability is linked to the speech center of his brain. Speaking triggers a massive disturbance capable of leveling a city. Due to the extreme danger posed by this power, the character has undergone rigorous mental training to prevent himself from uttering a sound, even in sleep. The fork-like antenna worn upon his forehead helps Black Bolt control his powers. He can channel his powers inward to increase his strength and speed, and can focus it through his arms as concussive blasts. Black Bolt is capable of channeling all available energy into one devastating punch called his Master Blow, which renders him extremely vulnerable after used.
