Self-driving vehicles sound awesome. Many of the big tech names including Google, Uber and Apple have been working on the self-driving car. A group of former Googlers have founded a tech startup called Otto that seems determined to bring the technology to trucks first.

It’s a good idea. I have a good friend that drives a truck, and I worry about him. I know those guys stay behind the wheel a long time, and can sometimes get sleepy. I’ve never heard of him getting drowsy, but I still feel relieved to see his updates on Facebook. A self-driving system in a truck would make the journey safer for both driver and fellow road users, I wonder when this kind of tech will be available for all? I’m sure the cars and trucks will be costly, to begin with, which is why maybe looking at Money Expert quotes will help make it affordable when they do. Then my buddy can spend his time in the back of the cabin, writing songs or catching up on his Netflix and Hulu shows. It would be kind of good to get this sort of technology sorted as soon as possible. I know that driving can be dangerous, but it can also be tiring and lonesome. It’s no wonder that people get into accidents on the road. It’s not like they are purposefully trying to get into an accident, but mistakes do happen, particularly when someone is tired. Which is why though, if you have ever been involved in a car accident, involving a truck, pedestrian, another car etc… it’s really important that you get the legal help that you need from a firm like lamber goodnow. It is especially important to do this if the accident wasn’t your fault and you have been hurt due to someone else’s negligence.

I’ve considered driving a truck a few times, but having to do nothing but drive, and perhaps listen to audiobooks, seems like mind-numbing torture-like boredom. If the trucks drove themselves and I could just write, read, and play games while travelling all across America? That would be so cool and I’d do that job in a heartbeat.

If the project interests you, check out the Otto website. They’re hiring. Not just drivers, but also mechanical, electrical and software engineers, and management.
