Paige is usually in the news for the reasons why parental locks were made. However, word came out this week that the wrestler’s career could be down for the count.
PWInsider sources are saying that WWE doctors will not clear Paige for in-ring action following an injury in New York last month. After taking a move in the house show tag match, Paige lost feeling in her body before being helped out the ring.
Paige just returned to Raw after a year-long absence from nerve damage in her neck, spine, and shoulders. This brings up what will she do next as Daniel Bryan’s brain injury forced him into an early retirement as well. He returned from a long absence in 2015, won the IC title, only to it drop it shortly after.
Paige comes from a family of wrestlers, she has been going at it in the ring since 13. Most wrestlers start around 18 and have about 15- year shelf-life for their punishment their body takes.
At any moment a career-ending injury can happen, making a wrestler’s prime years crucial income wise. As performers like Matt Hardy get older, they change their style to match this. The 25-year-old superstar gained a lot of miles herself before joining WWE.
If Monday is any indication, Paige will be taking on a managerial role in her Absolution faction for the foreseeable future. NXT’s Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville debuted along with the returning star in November to make names for themselves.
The first-ever women’s Royal Rumble is taking place Jan.28th and Page announced her entry New Year’s Day. Her absence will be felt as the youngest Women’s Champion ever is left out.
