One of the most notable factors into the success of Wonder Woman was that of director Patty Jenkins, who will be back now officially to ensure further success.
Variety has reported that Jenkins has officially signed on to direct the sequel to her highly successful superhero film from earlier this summer. Coming out On Dec. 13, 2018, Jenkins has already been at work on the script with Geoff Johns, who personally stated that, “The goal is to make another great ‘Wonder Woman’ film.”
The details of the deal that Jenkins signed aren’t being completely revealed right now, but its being assumed that it was around $8 million to come back and thus make her the highest paid female director of all-time.
The price to get her back shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise given that Wonder Woman grossed $816 million overall against a budget of $149 million. The 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes certainly must have helped as well.
Wonder Woman 2 won’t be the only thing Jenkins is currently working on as she is currently developing a TV series based on the autobiography of Fauna Hodel with Wonder Woman star, Chris Pine for TNT.
