Paul Dini Writing Backup Story for Current Harley Quinn Comic

written by Jordan Cobb January 17, 2017

Harley Quinn is undoubtedly one of the most popular characters out there. Even before a single picture or trailer for Suicide Squad came out, she was already an iconic figure ever since debuting on Batman: The Animated Series then transitioning into official DC Comics canon. It’s fascinating how quickly she took off.

One of the reasons for that is co-creator Paul Dini, who will soon pen some brand new tales for the clown herself.

An early look at DC Comics’ solicitations for this April revealed that Harley Quinn #17 will feature a backup story co-written by Dini and regular series co-writer Jimmy Palmiotti, Harley Loves Joker, which will give an insight to the earlier days of her relationship with the Clown Prince of Crime. Brett Blevins will provide the art for the backups.

You can view the solicitation for yourself below as well as the cover by regular series co-writer Amanda Conner.

Me personally, I haven’t been too much of Palmiotti and Conner’s Harley Quinn ever since it started back in The New 52, but seeing Dini handle some new stories with Halrey and it being about her earlier times with Mistah J., certainly might make it worth picking up to me for a while.
