To be the very best, like no one ever was, maybe you can travel to one of Pokemon GO‘s summer events. The 2018 summer tour hosts events all over the world. Niantic has announced a Safari Zone event for Dortmund, Germany, and the Pokemon GO Fest 2018: A Walk in the Park for Chicago, IL.
For European trainers, Dortmund, Germany, will host the Safari Zone event. This event will be on June 30 and July 1, 2018, in beautiful Westfalenpark. Westfalenpark is one of Europe’s largest inner-city parks, equipped with ornamented water features and large playgrounds. Wooded areas, open fields, and water areas will likely draw all different types of Pokémon. The activities of the Safari Zone event will cover Dortmund’s entire city district and not just the park. This will allow trainers from all over Europe to discover the city’s cultural history. The event is open to all, so booking travel accommodations early would be recommended. The event website has more detailed information.
North American trainers will travel to Lincoln Park this year for the Pokemon GO Fest 2018: A Walk in the Park. Last year, the sold-out event was held in Grant Park and was plagued with connectivity issues. This year, Niantic says the two-day event will offer an immersive experience unseen anywhere else, for a daylong trainer adventure. Lincoln Park has a lot of recreational facilities, landscaped gardens, a zoo, museums, and an outdoor theater on the coast of Lake Michigan. This year, Pokemon GO Fest will be on July 14-15, 2018. Single day passes go on sale May 11, 2018, for $20, and you can purchase them on the event’s website. You will be able to find information on hotels on the event website when tickets go on sale.
Asian trainers will also be getting a Safari Zone event in Yokosuka, Japan. No exact date is set, but expect it to be later this summer, to be followed by other exciting events for trainers across Asia. Niantic says they are inspired by the spirit of trainers who have attended past events held across Asia.
If you cannot attend any of these events, do not worry. There are many other ways to participate in the action even if it is from your hometown. They have not announced what these exciting challenges and activities will be yet, so keep an eye out for news from Niantic. Pokemon GO Community Day, this month held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, will place Charmander as the star. Community Day is held every month and offers trainers a chance to catch the starring Pokémon that has an exclusive move which can only be learned on Community Day, as well as other special bonuses.
