Stranger Things 3 has been getting all kinds of hype since Netflix announced the show’s return. With the news of its upcoming arrival and the details spared, fans can’t wait to see the gang back together. That being said, Netflix has yet another trick up their sleeve. Get ready, because Cary Elwes and Jake Busey will be joining the Stranger Things 3 cast!
Yes, you read that correctly. Netflix has cast Cary Elwes and Jake Busey for their third season of Stranger Things. Cary is best known for his role in the cult-classic The Princess Bride, as Buttercup’s main man, Westley. Jake, Gary Busey’s son, has starred in The Frighteners. Jake may fit right in, with his experience from this supernatural-themed film.
Stranger Things 3 Cast and Characters
So, Netflix has shared information on the characters Cary and Jake will be playing. They just keep on giving! Elwes has been cast to play the role of Mayor Kline. Here, Netflix gives you the inside scoop on Kline:
Handsome, slick, and sleazy, Mayor Kline is your classic 80s politician — more concerned with his own image than with the people of the small town he governs.
Similarly, Busey’s character has trouble with morals. This seems to be a recurring theme with the characters in the town of Hawkins. An example is the hated Dr. Brenner, a dark man of Eleven’s past, and possibly her future (as fans speculate). Also, Netflix describes his role as:
He’s a journalist for the The Hawkins Post with questionable morals and a sick sense of humor.
The show introduced some new characters last season. Notably, there was Sadie Sink as Max, Dacre Montgomery as Billy, and of course Sean Astin as Bob. Whether the characters were hated or loved, they gave the show traction by the communication they brought. There’s a chance Cary and Jake’s roles will be just as talked about.
