Protests Call Out Twitter CEO as Complicit after Trump’s Nuclear Tweet

Complicit is defined as choosing to be involved in an illegal or questionable act, especially with others; having complicity.

That is the view many have of Twitter Co-Founder and CEO Jack Dorsey following President Trump’s latest Tweet about the nuclear button he has threatened North Korea with. Resistance SF protested outside of Twitter’s headquarters in San Francisco Tuesday night and projected the message “@jack is #complicit” on the building in response to Trump’s tweet.

‪@jack breaks the rules of his own company, Twitter, to amplify a madman and endanger the world. Jack Dorsey must resign or ban @realDonaldTrump.

This is the tweet that Trump sent.

Many users on the social media website started to report the tweet, but Twitter responded that Trump’s message didn’t violate their abusive behavior rules. Though as we all know, this might not be the first time many of Trump’s tweets have been reported for the same reason.

Dorsey himself has not acted in any way to respond to the protest, which has prompted Resistance SF to stage a physical protest, “Trump goes or @jack goes” outside Twitter HQ on later tonight in San Francisco.

The issue itself is a tricky one given free speech, one’s right to express themselves freely online, and the fact that this is our current president we are dealing with.
