By the time 2016 is over, there’s going to be no celebrities left. We’ve seen way too too many greats go down and now Ron Lester has passed away.
Late Friday evening, Lester, best known for playing the lovable but concussion prone Billy Bob in the excellent football movie Varsity Blues, was reported to have died after being taken off life support, allegedly at his request. His fiancee was at least by his side.
Ron Lester, at the age of 45, had been battling liver problems and we’re hearing he may have had kidney issues as well. The actor had been fighting his health issues for about four months now and had been hospitalized in a Dallas, Texas facility for most of that time.
Lester, besides being in Varsity Blues, also starred in the comedy Not Another Teen Movie and the television crime procedural CSI:NY. He will be missed by a lot of us who cheered him on as he counted his concussions.
Where we sitting geeks? We officially over this year or what? I’m tired of it.
