Phew, this one has a wee bit more grit than the last one. Rockstar has released yet another trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2. Showing various characters, city life, theater, bank robbin’ and horse wrasslin’, it describes the soon-to-be death of the life of an outlaw. Playing as Arthur Morgan, the trailer alludes to having choices in the narrative.
As the developer describes it:
America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed.
After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.
This is the third major look at the new gunslinger game, where Rockstar Games teased us with 2 trailers earlier, as well as some leaks that surfaced about mechanics, online modes, and themed tents! In addition to the lengthy story missions, some side activities and modes will apparently include poker mini-games, horse-drawn carriage races, planning heists with your friends and a companion app to go with the release.
Despite the name, Red Dead Redemption 2 serves as a prequel to Red Dead Redemption 1. While Xbox One owners wait, they can feel free to play the original through the console’s backwards compatibility. As long as your fingers are crossed as hard as mine for no more delays, Red Dead Redemption 2 releases on October 26th on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
What do you think about the trailer, geeks? Still stoked for the fall? Let us know in the comments!
