Despite joining Disney, the 20th Century Fox side of Marvel adapted properties has gone through a bit of a shake-up recently.
Firstly, The New Mutants was set to come out this April, but will instead be released on February 22, 2019, which is a massive leap in time. Josh Boone’s horror theme superhero flick will be a nice change-up for the franchise despite its release date. Also changed is the release date for Deadpool 2 which is actually moved up from June 1, 2018, to May 18, 2018, meaning our favorite Merc with the Mouth will come to see us a week before the upcoming Han Solo standalone film.
Also affected is Gambit, which is still struggling to come out. Gambit today lost yet another director in the form of Gore Verbinski and has been pushed back from Valentine’s Day 2019 to June 7, 2019. All that’s still known about that is Channing Tatum is still tapped to play the lead character.
Interestingly enough, X-Men: Dark Phoenix is unaffected by all this.
