Resident Evil 7 “Banned Footage” Vol. 1
The first DLC for Capcom’s Resident Evil 7 is out today for the PS4. Volume 1 of a planned two of the “Banned Footage” is available for season pass holders, or $9.99 if you don’t have the pass. You can pick it up now at the PlayStation Store. The Vol. 1 DLC will include two new scenarios and an extra mode.
The first “Banned” scenario is titled “Nightmare.” In this part of the DLC players will play as Sewer Gators cameraman Clancy. As Clancy you’ll have to craft weapons and ammo and fight off a horde of enemies while trying to survive until the sun comes up. The other mode, also starring Clancy, is entitled “Bedroom.” In this scene Clancy will be locked in a bedroom and must find a way to escape. However, if Marguerite Baker discovers you up and about instead of snug as a bug in bed, she won’t be happy. You can rest assured she’ll give you more than a stern scolding.
Along with the two new scenarios being added to Resident Evil 7, an infinitely replayable mode called “Ethan Must Die” is included. This mode “is an extra tough mode that is separate from the events of RE7“. Capcom did note that VR is not supported in this mode.
“Banned Footage” Vol. 2
Volume 2 of the “Banned Footage” will be $14.99 and will come out on Valentine’s Day. That’s February 14th, the day of love. This DLC will add the scenarios “21” and “Daughters”. In “21” you’ll challenge Lucas Baker to a deadly game of 21 by gambling with your life. In “Daughters” you will explore events prior to those in Resident Evil 7. An extra gameplay mode will also be added to RE7. This mode will be called “Jack’s 55th Birthday” and, according to capcom it “provides a race against the clock as players serve up the Daddy of the family, Jack Baker, with tons of treats for his special celebration”. It is also noted the VR will not function in this mode either.
On February 21st everyone who owns Resident Evil 7 will have access to the DLC. Deluxe Edition and Season Pass owners will get the “Banned Footage” contents as they release and an additional story episode with more details to come. In the Spring of 2017 owners will also have access to the free “Not a Hero” content. This scenario happens away from the events of the main game.
