Rick and Morty has been increasing in popularity since it came out in July 2015. And it’s not hard to see why, it’s like a mixture of Back to the Future, Doctor Who, and the creators own mishmash of hilarity! And with the ease of finding the episodes online, it spread like wildfire through friends and family who like the show.
So many fans were disappointed when the end of Season 2 had this line:
Waiting a year and a half for this next season is going to be torture! What is up with Rick’s past? Why was he considered a terrorist? How is Rick going to get out of this!? How are we going to survive until Season 3 comes out? When exactly is Season 3 arriving?
Well, at the Rick and Morty Panel at Magic City Comic Con, they announced Rick and Morty will return at the end of 2016! That means anywhere from October-December. They also announced that there may be 14 episodes in Season 3, after jokingly telling people not to blog about it.
So not only is Rick and Morty coming in 2016 but there are going to be at least four more episodes this season!
The creators also announced they didn’t initially want to end season 2 on a cliffhanger. They had originally wanted to make it a two-parter with the second part being the end of the season. However, they ended up behind schedule and had to stop it there and leaving fans wanting more. However, that might have been what made Rick and Morty’s popularity skyrocket!
With that being said, who are you looking forward to seeing in Season 3? Who is your favorite character from Rick and Morty? And what do you think is Rick’s crime that led him to be called a terrorist? Let us know in the comments below!
