Riverdale’s Sabrina the Teenage Witch is Coming to Netflix

Sabrina the Teenage Witch is coming back

Originally slated to join Riverdale on the CW, the new Sabrina The Teenage Witch series will take up residency on Netflix. While many may not know, Sabrina was part of the Archieverse in the comics since 1962, with her first spin-off series in 1983. Netflix has already ordered two, ten-episode seasons of the new show, which will give it plenty of time to prove itself.

Nothing like the old series

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the showrunner for Riverdale will be head up the new series, giving us a much darker version than what we saw in the 90s.

From what we know, Sabrina, the half human/half witch, lives with her two aunts and her talking cat, but from there everything may change. In the comics, she used her powers to help people in secret, as she did in the show. From what we’ve seen in Riverdale, it’s possible Sabrina’s use of her powers won’t be so simple.

So who’s going to be in Sabrina

There is a lot of speculation on who is going to play Sabrina in the new series. The biggest lead in this mystery is Descendants star, Dove Cameron. Back in September, she posted a cryptic Instagram picture with a phone emoji as it’s caption.

She fits the bill as far as looks go, so we may have our Sabrina already. Other speculations include Leanne Lapp, Rachel Crow, Violett Beane, Chelsea Gilligan, and AnnaSophia Robb. Besides Sabrina, there is Archie and all of the Riverdale cast, big and small characters will be able to jump between the shows and we cannot wait to see the crossover episodes. I personally would love to see Mellissa Joan Hart come back into the show as one of Sabrina’s aunts.
