Longstanding TV actor Ron Glass has passed away at the age of 71.
No word as of yet as to an official cause of death, though there is some thought that respiratory problems played a factor, or if the actor himself was ill before his death.
One of the most prominent figures in the Buddhist community of California, Glass is said to have went peacefully yesterday at his home in LA.
The Indiana-born actor is best know for roles across several television series such as Friends, CSI, Star Trek: Voyager, Rugrats, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but his most famous roles of course came as Detective Ron Harris on Barney Miller and as Shepherd Derrial Book on the cult sci-fi series Firefly and its movie continuation, Serenity amongst other shows and films he was a part of.
All of us here and Don’t Hate the Geek send our best wishes and thoughts with Glass’ family, friends, and those closest to him. Hopefully they get through this difficult time peacefully.
I think right about now throughout the verse, Browncoats are raising a glass to their favorite Shepard.
