James Gunn and the the gang are in full force production of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Rumors surrounding the film are plenty and it seems like Mr. Gunn is doing his best to keep everything very hush hush. The newest rumor comes from JoBlo and claims that they know who exactly will be the main villain in the upcoming sequel.
The rumor suggests that Elizabeth Debicki (The Man from UNCLE, The Great Gatsby) will be taking on the role as Ayesha, aka HER, aka Paragon, aka Kismet. JoBlo’s sources says that the villain is confirmed, but not necessarily the actress portraying her. Although, Debicki is confirmed to be in the film.
In the comics, Ayesha has many forms and has been known by several names. She was created as a perfect genetic being by the scientific organization known as The Enclave. The organization’s goal was to take over the world by creating genetically perfect beings to restart humanity. The Enclave’s first subject was HIM, who after escaping The Enclave, is later known by Adam Warlock. This is important in the comics because Adam Warlock is Peter Quill’s (Star Lord’s) father. Previously, James Gunn has mentioned that the movies stray quite a bit from the comics and that Quill’s father is not who we all think it is.
In the JoBlo article, they also “confirm” that the Guardians will have a presence in The Avengers: Infinity War films, though how much and how significant their presence is, is still to be determined.
James Gunn nor Marvel Studios has commented on the latest rumors. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is slated for a May 5, 2017 release. So what do you think, geeks?
