Samurai Jack is back!

Samurai Jack

Fans of the hit show, Samurai Jack, when it was on Cartoon Network can finally rejoice! After releasing some promotional art and a brief teaser trailer for the show’s long-awaited season 5, we’ve finally been treated to a full-length trailer for everyone’s enjoyment! Take a look:

The show’s 5th season will no longer air during the children’s portion of Cartoon Network. Instead, it will air on Adult Swim and Toonami starting March 11th, 2017 for a 10-episode run. Show runner Genndy Tartakovsky elaborated on the challenge of the show’s move to a mature platform. He said it was difficult, “because people watch it with their kids through the generations, right, so I didn’t want to go full-on heads getting chopped off, blood spurting everywhere.”

The show definitely looks like it’s going to be much darker than the show I remember watching as a kid, but it looks great!

Synopsis:

It’s been 50 years since we saw Samurai Jack and time has not been kind to him. Aku has destroyed every time portal and Jack has stopped aging, a side effect of time travel. It seems he is cursed to just roam the land for all eternity.

What do you guys think of the new trailer? Are you excited for the return of Samurai Jack? Are there any other old cartoon shows you’d like to see resurrected for a more mature audience? (Gargoyles please!) We’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas, so join in on the conversation in the comments below and tell us what you think!
