When you wake up in the morning, do you ever just miss sitting in front of the TV and watching Saved by the Bell? Did you start to sing the theme song at the beginning of that sentence? You may want to pay attention because we’re so excited, we’re so excited, we’re so… hungry.
Bring your nostalgia and appetites. A Saved by the Bell themed pop-up restaurant is coming to LA very soon. The restaurant, known as “Saved by the Max”, has no word on the exact opening date. However, their Facebook page has been hyping this up for months. So, it should be anytime now.
According to the LA Eater:
The place is going to be predictably decked out in all sorts of period specific accouterments, from the neon lighting schemes to the bright, bold artwork and zigzag lines that make the place pop.
It sounds like it will be something straight out of the series.
Now that we’ve talked about decor, I bet you’re wondering what is exactly on the menu. The food itself is nothing really fancy; mainly a burger and sandwich joint. However, the names of each entree are enough to bring a smile to your face. Any Saved by the Bell fan will get a kick out of these pun-filled menu items. Names such as “The Mac and Screech” and “AC Sliders” add even more nostalgia to a classic meal.
It’s certainly not a dry restaurant, as it has plenty of alcoholic drinks to choose from. Remember, the characters were in high school, but it’s safe to say most original Saved by the Bell fans would be well over 21 by now. One drink item that stands out is the “Friends Forever” special. According to the menu on the website, it includes “312 Urban Wheat Ale and a shot of Jameson Irish Whisky”.
