Scooby-doo gets a post apocalyptic reboot

The new Scooby gang

Scooby-doo was one of my favorite tv shows growing up. I was a little disappointed when I discovered that real paranormal investigators don’t get to run around haunted mansions avoiding traps and thwarting elaborate cons. We won’t be seeing many guys in masks in DC Comics new reboot. The monsters they’re fighting are real.

The new comic is called Scooby Apocalypse. The whole gang, including Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred, are back. Things are a little different after the apocalypse. The new monthly series of comics will find the Mystery Machine crew fighting for their lives.

I can’t wait to read it. Launch date is May 25th.

In addition to the Scooby gang, there are several other Hanna-Barbera titles making a revival. Keep your eyes open for The Flintstones, Wacky Raceland (presumably inspired by Wacky Races) and a new title called Future Quest. Future Quest will bring together several heroes from the Hanna-Barbera universe, including Jonny Quest, Space Ghost, Frankenstein Jr, The Herculoids, The Impossibles, The Galaxy Trio, Birdman and Mightor.

I’m going to have to clear some shelf space.
